Hello! My name is Jesse Kopp and I am the new administrative fellow in the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs for the 2011-2012 academic year. I just graduated with a BA in Sports Management from Lynn University in the spring of 2011, and I am currently pursuing my MBA in Sports and Athletic Administration. While a student at Lynn I was extremely involved in Greek Life and was president of Zeta Beta Tau my senior year. I have interned in the Lynn University Athletic Department and have worked at two Super Bowls and two NCAA Men’s Final Fours. I will be writing a few stories each week about our alumni, and would love any input for story ideas or feedback on past stories. I hope you enjoy this one—my first—I interviewed three presidents of Greek organizations. Please email me with your ideas and comments.
How did you come up with the sheet banner idea?
The banner idea started last fall with a little brainstorming between alumna Katie Comerford ’11 and current student Alexandra Alberti. We were trying to think “out of the box” and came up with this idea. They use a projector to project the image on the sheet and then trace and paint it. These banners have caught the eye of many students and faculty around campus.
What would you like to see from sigma alumni?
Tri Sigma always loves support from past sisters whether through ideas or donations to the chapter or our charity organizations. We also love to hear from past alumnae so we can bring back some of the old traditions of Tri Sigma that have dampened over the years.
How would you like to be more involved with sigma alumni?
We have at least two alumnae events a year which helps us stay involved. We would also love to see more alumae at recruitment events which would help us encourage a strong bond of sisterhood.

What are Greeks doing on campus?
“As a whole we are working hard to make Greek life more exclusive on campus.”

How did you come up with your rush theme for this year?
We really wanted our rush theme to make some noise this year. After a lot of thinking we came up with “Batman” because like Batman, one man can make a difference—and the brothers of Zeta Beta Tau do make a difference!
How would you like to see alumni more involved?
I would love to see alumni involved in meeting the new members of our chapter and for the new members to see how Zeta Beta Tau has affected our chapter’s alumni brothers from their freshman year to current day.
What would you like to see from alumni?
The most important thing from alumni would be funds. Money makes everything work for us, as for recruitment events and community events. Even 10 dollars can go far for keeping ZBT alive and well.
How would you describe Zeta Beta Tau?
“A group of gentleman that get things done on campus and in the community while stressing brotherhood and excellence.”

How is rush going for you so far?
Very well—all the chapters have done an excellent job. The Greek BBQ went well. Annie Weaver and Anthony Altieri [from Student Involvement] are helping us all out.
We would really love to see alumni at all of our events. They have an open invitation and are always welcome.
How would you like alumni to get more involved?
Alumni are always invited to dinners and other events. Our National President is visiting for our bicentennial celebration and would love our alumni to join us for dinner with him. (Contact President Andrew Kriger for more information.)
