Scott Gordon ’11 is the only Division II men’s soccer player to make it in this year’s Major League Soccer (MLS) draft. The Boca Raton resident began his undergraduate education at Mercer University in Atlanta, Ga., but came home to Boca after two years.

Gordon transferred into Lynn for his last two years, and was the captain of the team. When asked about his favorite part of Lynn, Gordon quickly responded, “The best part about Lynn was being able to live in Boca and play such a high level of soccer with such good friends and teammates.”

On January 13, MLS draft day, Gordon received a phone call that he was selected 53rd overall by FC Dallas (Texas). “When I got the phone call that I was drafted I was in complete shock, it was exciting to be given the opportunity to play soccer at such a high level.”

Gordon is the latest in a long line of Fighting Knights playing professional soccer in the United States. He is joined in the MLS by Jean Alexandre ’10 and Tim Melia ’08.
