Kids say the darndest things

Alum Paul Amelchenko ’04, penned his second tome about man’s best friend. His Labrador retriever, Brinks, was the muse for his first book, The Da Vinci dog, of which 25 percent of sales was donated to animal rescue organizations.

Amelchenko’s second book, Children’s Letters to Dog, took him to the Humane Society of Broward County where shelter dogs inspired him to ask school kids to write them letters. Encouraged to tell the dogs exactly what was on their minds, the kids wrote about such things as their evil sisters and their favorite foods. The results are very funny and the accompanying photos are just as cute as can be.
