Jonathan Weitz ’10 has been recognized for a video he produced while studying at Lynn University. He produced “Don’t Be a Dumbbell” in a class under the tutelage of Prof. John Bernnado. Weitz entered this piece into the 32nd Annual Telly Awards, which honors the very best in local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as video and film productions and work for the web.

Weitz won not one, but two Telly Awards in two separate categories for his video production: Internet/Online Video - Health & Fitness and Internet/Online Programs, Segments, or Promotional Pieces - Health and Wellness.

“The knowledgeable professors at Lynn University, all of whom are industry leaders, helped me grow by preparing me with important questions, skills and perspectives necessary to tackle much of the challenges I face today.  I was also provided with the necessary resources to complete projects, including production equipment and editing software,” said Weitz.

Weitz has since been hired at Pratt Institute (a school for art, design and architecture) in Brooklyn, N.Y., as a multimedia producer. He handles all of Pratt's online/new media, and develops stories and digital video content for its website and various social media outlets. “This is the same type of work I performed while working as a graduate teaching assistant at Lynn University, and many of the videos I created for Lynn helped me to prepare for a media job within the realm of higher education,” he said.
