Following the success of his challenge to fellow alumni last year, John Langan ’81 stepped forward to present it again this year. For every new alum that joins the Leadership Society with a donation of $2,500 or more, he will donate $1,000 up to $5,000. His goal was exceeded last year when seven new donors met his challenge.

Langan encourages alumni to jump on the bandwagon and give back to their alma mater. Motivated by the great experience he had while at Lynn, he wants to help the university grow. “My experience at Lynn was a changing point in my life to begin to believe in myself and my abilities. I believe in giving back, both in time and dollars, to organizations like Lynn that can have a positive impact on the lives of young adults,” he said.

Why does he think the challenge has had such great response? “I think the Lynn experience has deeply impacted and served many alumni like me and they also want to step up and improve the experience for current and future Lynn students.”

Aside from being an active alumnus, John is a member of Lynn’s board of trustees. His confidence in, and support for, the university’s mission and vision is evidenced not only with his financial assistance, but also with his gifts of time and talents.

With his help, we are well on the way to fulfilling the goal of his challenge again this year.
