Daniel Ramirez '04 has been around airplanes his entire life. It's no surprise that years later he would be following in the same footsteps as his father. "Seeing the passion that came from my dad, kind of trickled down to me," said Ramirez, who reminisced on his father who was in the Colombian Air force.

Dan lived in Colombia until he was ten years old. Boca Raton, Florida has been his home ever since. When it came time for his college education, Lynn provided a business and aviation aspect for Dan that most other universities did not. This fit right into exactly what he wanted to do.

After graduating from Lynn, Dan continued his education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and received a master’s degree in Aeronautical Science with two minors, one in Safety Systems and one in Management. He earned a second graduate degree in System Engineering from The University of Florida. He is currently working as an Air Safety Officer for Embraer Aircraft Holdings in the North America and the Caribbean regions, as well as Chief of Safety Embraer Executive Jets worldwide. As a safety pilot his primary job is not only flying the aircraft, but also includes managing pilots, safety, budgets and time, "this is where my education at Lynn comes in handy" he stated. Embraer is the third largest manufacturing aircraft in the world, and they are still expanding their operations in the United States. Dan hopes to continue in the corporate ranks and eventually become a senior manager or vice president at Embraer.

What Dan loves more than anything is teaching. He is currently an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University teaching Human Factors in Aviation. This is something he has an extreme passion for and though he says he's not there yet, he wants to pursue it full time in the future. Dan is constantly soaring towards the next goal and living it out in full effect.
