Yanatha Desouvre '10 is a man with prodigious talents. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he was raised in Brooklyn, New York and Philadelphia, Penn. Yanatha has a beautiful wife, Amy Desouvre, and two precious daughters.

He earned a master’s degree in business administration while working as a technician at the IT Support Services at Lynn University. After working in higher education for almost a decade on the information technology front, he developed a strong passion towards its global impact. This interest led him to pursue a doctorate degree in higher education at the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, Yanatha works at the University of Pennsylvania as an Information Technology Support Specialist. He is also a mobile app and brand developer.

Yanatha has created various apps including Proud to be Haitian, Kids Eat Free HD and Pre K Math that are available for download. The apps are available for Android devices and for iOS devices (the iPad, iPhone, iPad mini, iPod touch).

His passion for creating apps came years ago when a hiring manager questioned his skills. Yanatha took this as an opportunity to learn, grow, and create. “The lesson is here is to never let anyone else determine your value,” says Yanatha.

A Renaissance man, Yanatha also writes books. His latest book, Big Sister, Little Sister is a collaborative work with his older daughter Reanna and him showcasing pictures of his two girls growing together with text dictated by Reanna.

Cherishing his Lynn experience and memories, Yanatha says “There are so many memorable experiences that I've had at Lynn University it's hard to choose one. Founders and Multicultural days were some of my favorite times, being co-advisor to the award-winning Black Student Union and working with other student groups taught me so much.”
