Amy Desouvre ’12, better known as the Cierra “The Midday Goddess” the host of one of the most popular radio shows in South Florida, has just earned her degree. Desouvre wanted to complete something that she started 16 years ago and earn her Bachelor of Science in business administration. Amy needed a school that was flexible with her work schedule as she was on air every day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Desouvre has had many accomplishments out of the classroom. She also did voice overs for such clients as Walgreens, Wendy’s and TGI Fridays. She still always had one more thing on her mind though: finishing up her college degree.

It wasn’t easy for Amy to go back to school; this is a classic story of drive and determination. Desouvre works full time as the host of the show and she also happens to be the mother of two small children. She used her platform as a successful radio host to inspire her listeners, telling them it is never too late to go back to school. “The Midday Goddess” wants to send out a strong message, “There is an amazing sense of joy and fulfillment you get and I hope everyone who hasn’t completed their college education, does so. If I can do it, you can do it and will.”  This story is about someone not letting go of a dream and making it happen many years later.
