Jared Montz ’05 was a member of the Major League Soccer team the Chicago Fire until his pro career was cut short due to injury.  Montz’s playing career also included a 2003 Division II Men’s Soccer Championship here at Lynn University.

Since leaving MLS Montz has made a big impact by creating and running the Jared Montz Soccer Camps. This July marked six years of camps and over that time Jared estimates he has run more than 60 individual camps.

The camps’ mission is to “teach players that if you believe in it and back it up with hard work anything in life is possible.”  Whether it be their dreams or getting an A on their next test.  Jared doesn’t just want to teach his campers skills he wants to provide them with coaches who are excellent role models as well.  Jared is also the founder of OnlineSoccerAcademy.com. There they make better soccer players through free online training videos.  Kids all over the world use the Online Soccer Academy and he has a licensing deal with Disney.

It really is amazing how many Lynn graduates give back to the community and Jared’s camps are a perfect example.
