Humberto Fortuna ’98 is a veteran in the health care industry with 20 years of experience. He is the current owner of Placement Counselors Corporation since 1999 and currently is the publisher of 55+ Magazine. This magazine is a bilingual publication circulated throughout the South Florida area. Humberto says the master’s degree in healthcare administration, with a concentration in nursing home administration, provided him with the educational backbone for business and the element of humanity. He was able to address the needs of older adults and run three companies that he currently owns and operates.

Humberto says that Lynn University gave him the determination to achieve anything that he put his mind to.  He has a few words of wisdom for current Lynn students: learn, study and listen. “Education is one of the many secrets to success. Success is when you are able to achieve your goals and beyond. Work in a field you have a passion for, it will make your life that much more enjoyable.”

What makes Humberto’s story so unique is he is not just a healthcare professional, he is a publisher and what many would call a “Jack of Many Trades.” Lynn prides itself in graduating students with multiple skill sets – and Humberto is a perfect example.
