Only a few years removed from attending Lynn University where she honed her entrepreneurial skills, Felecia Hatcher now uses those skills in the real world.

Hatcher had a vision for an upscale, adult, ice cream truck catering business. When she and her husband were laid off from their marketing jobs at Nintendo, they figured they would take a chance on that vision.

Hatcher’s boutique ice cream company, Feverish Ice Cream, has been a hit since it got started in 2008. “While at Lynn I was a member of multiple student organizations. This really gave me the skills I needed to build a team, get organized and of course get creative with limited funds like most student organizations have,” said Hatcher.

According to its website, Feverish Ice Cream has done events with clients such as Live Nation, Tom Cruise, JCrew, BB&T Bank, Tyco, Universal Music, Cirque de Soleil, Playboy, Cox Radio, Bacardi and the U.S. Census Bureau. The company has been featured in Modern Luxury Magazine, Deco Drive, NBC, Miami Herald, Entrepreneur.com, Inc.com, Daily Candy, Boston Globe, Budget Travel Magazine, Market Watch, Wall Street Journal, Black Enterprise and Air Tran Magazine as well as being named one of the Top 10 Eco-Friendly Food Trucks in the U.S. by MNN.com.

Hatcher will now be featured on The Cooking Channel (a Food Network operated station) on the show,  “Unique Sweets.” According to The Cooking Channel’s website, the show is “an insider’s peek into the innovative eateries across America that are creating the most unique and exciting desserts today.”

The episode featuring Hatcher and her company airs 10:30 p.m., July 31.
