Soaring to new heights

At the beginning of May two Lynn alumni – Ryan Rodosta '09 and Phillip Parada '07 – found themselves flying 30,000+ feet in the air together for Spirit Airlines.

For as long as Ryan can remember, he wanted to be a pilot, and has always been enamored by all things ‘flight.’ Ryan began working for Spirit
Airlines in 2007. He says the best part about being a pilot is he has his passion and driving force as his occupation.

Ryan said Lynn helped him prepare for the ‘real world,’ because “Lynn offers a real world approach to the aviation industry whilst merging aeronautical related course content with management and various business courses.” The Lynn curriculum assisted Ryan in becoming an effective management pilot at an early age. Because of that, Ryan is working with Jeff Johnson – Dean of the Burton D. Morgan School of Aeronautics – to bridge an internship program with Lynn University and Spirit Airlines. Ryan also looks forward to possibly returning to Lynn one day for his Master’s Degree.
