Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fede Gogliormella ‘03 came to the United States when he was only 11 years old. He returned to Argentina before coming back to Boca Raton for college. He knew that Lynn was just a perfect fit. “I really liked the small campus and very international student body. I felt it was a good fit for me. Lynn made the transition to studying in another country easy. From the admissions office, the teachers and coaches – they were always there to lend a helping hand or simply to have a conversation.”

While studying at Lynn, Fede was part of the Men’s Golf Team and majored in International Business. “I liked the idea of dealing not only with different companies, but different countries, cultures and ideas,” Fede said. Because of Lynn’s international student body, Fede was able to meet students from all over South America, Central America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Fede said, “Class interaction really gave you a world view, not just your own.” The eclectic group of students on campus benefited him academically but his future, most especially. The opportunity to learn amongst such a diverse group of individuals influenced his career path.

Currently Fede works as the Director of Imports at the All American Farms & All American Tobacco. Both companies have become a very large importers of fresh fruits/vegetables and cigars. While working for this company Fede became a licensed Customs Broker. “It was not as easy as I thought. There are approximately 30,000 people in the whole country that have this license. It felt great to be able to achieve this goal,” said Fede. Becoming a Customs Broker made it so that Fede could become a private individual that could assist importers and exporters to meet the required federal imports and exports. Within his position he spends a lot of his time handling shipments into different ports of entry while dealing with US Customs, USDA, FDA, and TTB.

After ten years with All American Farms, Fede continues to grow and expand his horizons. He was fortunate enough to get involved in the financing side of business where he learned a lot by working with banks and learning different financing tools to later implement them. “That’s another big part of my days – taking care of the day to day financing of the entire operation. Needless to say, there are times of stress and it is a very fast paced environment, but I have enjoyed seeing the company grow and being able to grow with it as well,” he said.

Beyond work, Fede hopes to continue learning and growing. “I want to do the best that I can at work, but I believe it’s more important to be the best husband I can be to my wife and the best father I can be to my daughter and son. Having a balanced life is extremely important - although it’s not easy to juggle all of it at once. You have to enjoy what you do, enjoy life and family and don’t lose sight of what is important. Keep things in perspective. It’s up to you what kind of time and effort you put in. Your success or failure depends largely on yourself.”
