Lynn University soccer alumni and their families were invited to join the Fighting Knights as Lynn University was hosting Rollins College on Saturday, Sept. 15, in a Sunshine State Conference soccer doubleheader. Lynn University’s Fighting Knights had a heart-racing finish with a 1-0 victory over the Rollins.

“There was a nice turnout, EVERY alum I spoke to specifically said “Thank you for putting this on and inviting us.” It was a good collaboration between alumni affairs, the soccer programs, and athletics marketing/sponsorships. The food truck sponsor seemed to be appreciated by the alums and their families.” said Kristen Migliano, athletic director.

I had a conversation with Matt Roos, the director of alumni affairs, about his experience at this event:

How was the alumni soccer event?

It was great to see our alumni out to support the program. Our soccer tradition spans decades and is a product of everyone who has gone through in the past. The current players appreciate it and the additional cheering section adds to the game.

Does Lynn plan to organize more alumni based games?

Yes. Our athletic department and administration are very supportive of alumni outreach. Our alumni have brought our teams to national recognition in the past and their continued support and involvement help make our future bright.

Are there any special events for alumni during the debate?

Lynn University is coordinating and organizing debate viewing parties at Mizner Park in Boca Raton, Boston, New York and DC. Alumni and their families are welcome to join us at these places.
